SACRAMENTS & SACRAMENTALS

BAPTISMS: We will baptize anyone who has not been previously baptized with water in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We never charge a fee for baptisms, but we do pass the plate during the service to allow everyone to give an offering of their choosing. We do not require anyone to attend any classes as a condition of baptism, but at least one meeting between the baptismal candidate and the pastor is necessary to go over what will happen at the service.

CONFIRMATIONS: Our Bishop, the Most Rev. Mark R. Earl, visits the parish as needed for confirmation. A candidate for confirmation should review and understand the Saint Cecilia Catechism and discuss same with the pastor or someone appointed by him. We never charge a fee for confirmations, but we do pass the plate during the service to allow everyone to give an offering of their choosing.

QUINCEANERAS: Young ladies attaining 15 years of age are invited to celebrate their Quinceanera at our church.  The customary fee is $250, but this can be reduced for those unable to afford it.

HOLY ORDERS: Holy Orders for the priesthood and perpetual diaconate are open to all adults at least 18 years of age with a genuine call to ministry, regardless of gender, marital status, sexual orientation, age, race, national origin, or any other immutable characteristic. One or more discernment meetings with the pastor is the first step, followed by referral to Bishop Earl for the filing of an Application and formal interview. Readiness and eligibility for ordination are at the sole discretion of the bishop.

MARRIAGES: We marry any opposite or same sex couple with a valid marriage license. Please contact the pastor to set a date. Except where there are exigent circumstances, an engaged couple must meet with the pastor 4-6 weeks before the wedding to plan the service. For a wedding held in the church, there is a fee of $100 due to cover janitorial and utility costs, but this fee can be reduced for those unable to afford it.  If the couple desires music, the music director's fee is $125. The pastor's fee for a church wedding is $150 and $250 for a wedding outside the church, but this fee can be reduced for those unable to afford it. Marriages can include Nuptial Mass if desired.

FUNERALS: Please contact the church immediately if someone dies to make arrangements for the use of the church for a vigil and a Mass of Christian Burial. Funerals are normally conducted at the Church but can be at another location, such as a funeral home, if desired. For a funeral held in the church, there is a fee of $100 due to cover janitorial and utility costs. This fee, however, is waived for church members. If the family desires music, the music director's fee is $125. The pastor's fee for a church funeral is $100 and $150 for a funeral outside the church, but this fee is waived for church members.
